PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

 

Instructor, Art Institute of California, Los Angeles (2001 – present): Taught students in Game Art Design, Animation, Interactive Media (Web) Design in the following disciplines:

 

Instructor, Art Institute Online (AIO) and South University Online (2003 – present): Taught online students in basic and advanced biology using Intralearn web-based instruction system.

 

Technology Instructor, Santa Monica College (SMC) 1997-2000: Taught SMC programmers the basics of web design and web-based programming. Installed and trained SMC instructors to use Tegrity (www.tegrity.com), software an Internet ‘whiteboard’ package for online teaching. Evaluated, recommended, and installed WebCT software supporting online education at SMC.

 

Webmaster, Santa Monica College (SMC) 1997-2000:  Designed all SMC websites (http://www.smc.edu), providing web design, content lifecycle maintenance, quality testing, and support. Setup of Windows web servers, support for faculty/staff homepage area and online discussion boards. Installed and programmed WebCT courseware, advised IT department on web server hardware/software purchases. Developed campus-wide strategy for web content updates. Advised IT staff on integration of Macintosh, Windows, Unix systems in a mixed computing environment.

 

Chief Technology Officer, Indiespace 1994-present: Designed and constructed over 1000 mini-websites within pioneering entertainment portal (http://www.indiespace.com). Designed websites for over 30 web hosting clients in music, film and entertainment industry. Implemented Internet/web technology including HTML, JavaScript, HTML 4, RealAudio/RealVideo, PHP, Perl/CGI, Apache, Sendmail, Intershop e-commerce system, and mySQL. Web development, hardware/software support, and network solutions for arts and entertainment clients including American Recordings, J. Paul Getty Center for the Arts, Bell Industries, A&M Records, and Bell Microproducts.

 

Published Author 1994-present: Co-author of nationally-distributed books Creating Internet Entertainment (ISBN: 0-471-1607303), Internet World Guide to Maintaining & Updating Dynamic Web Sites (ISBN: 0-471-24273-X), and Web Developer.com Guide to Producing Live Webcasts (ISBN: 0-471-29409-8) through Wiley Computer Publications. New book on marketing to the post GenX generation, The Millennial Generation and Entertainment out at the end of 2004.

 

Speaker/Lecturer/Instructor 1989-present: Conducted seminars and gave talks at Internet World, WebWorld, California Copyright Conference, CMJ, LA Women in Music, NAS, NARAS. 1995-present.
