| The history of robots dates back almost 2,800 years. In the ancient Greek epic the "Iliad," written in the 8th century B.C., Homer depicted three robotlike creatures --one that moved around on wheels, a humanoid robot and a robot designed to work in a factory. Leonardo di Vinci created a steerable robot platform (long mis-identified as an early car), probably based on the descriptions in the Iliad. | |
